We passionately believe that connecting eaters, especially children, to their food and the farmers who grow it is the foundation for building their lifelong commitment to land stewardship and empowered healthy eating.
You can get involved with Amber Waves Farm by joining our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, visiting us at the Montauk and Springs farmers markets, or enjoying our food at many east end restaurants. Our food education programs give children the opportunity to connect with their food through touching, tasting, and exploring the farm. We believe the understanding of food that we instill in children in the farm fields leads to a lifetime of empowered, healthy eating and we are committed to educating the next generation of healthy eaters, teaching sustainable growing practices to young farmers, and building a community committed to maintaining our regional food system.
We are now hiring apprentices for the 2014 season!
Position details and application requirements
We are looking forward to our sixth season at Amber Waves Farm, and in 2014 we will increase food production, grow new farmer training programs, and cultivate educational efforts in local schools. Making an online contribution ensures the farm will continue to thrive and be an inspiring place for families, teachers, students, and new farmers to discover and enjoy food.
